In Saint Révérend, less than 10 minutes from the hotel, the miller shows you around this 3-storey windmill still in operation and explains how flour is made.
SALT OF LIFE
Sel de vie offers walks around the salt marshes and Saint Gilles Croix de Vie by boat and bike. Remember to stop by their shop to buy their salt.
THE SARDINE WORKSHOP
In Saint Gilles Croix de Vie, you have to visit the last Vendée cannery. You will discover the whole route of the sardine before arriving on your plates.

CANOES
In Givrand, not far from our hotel, the Canoës du Marais offers you the opportunity to sail with family or friends on the calm Jaunay river. You will walk between marshes, forests and dunes. In summer, night courses are offered.
VELORAIL
10 minutes from the hotel, in Commequiers, this friendly Vélorail ride allows you to ride on this old railway line in the middle of the countryside.
VENDEE MINIATURE
In Brétignolles sur Mer, a 20th century village in the Vendée bocage has been recreated in miniature size. An incredible return to the past!
BEACHES AND NAUTICAL ACTIVITIES
The first beaches are located 10 minutes from our hotel. You have the choice between sunbathing, swimming or doing nautical activities offered by the various nautical bases
World Surfing Day
On this special day for surfers, we present to you the various water activities near our hotel.
SURF
Brétignolles sur Mer is an internationally recognized city for surfing. The Sauzaie or dunes spot is perfect for specialists.
In Brétignolles and Saint Gilles Croix de Vie, there are surf schools for amateurs.
In case of bad weather, in Saint Gilles, in the Océanis area next to Leclerc, the Glassy House has an artificial wave unique in France.
CANOE
A quarter of an hour's walk away, Les Canoës du Marais offers sailing on the Jaunay river. This river is calm and without current and therefore accessible to all. On reservation, in summer, evening sessions are organised.
PADDLE
On a lake or on the sea, paddle is a very popular sport in the Pays de Saint Gilles. Several nautical bases offer you to do:Nautical Base of the Grande Plage and the Nautical Base of Boisvinet in Saint Gilles Croix de Vie, the Nautical Base of the Valleys in Saint Hilaire de Riez.

On this special day, we celebrate the bikes that accompany us on some incredible journeys.
BIKE WELCOME LABEL
In 2020, our welcome and our equipment allowed us to obtain the Accueil Vélo label. We have everything you need to take care of your bikes: a place where they can sleep in the shelter, a repair kit to treat their ailments, a power outlet to recharge the batteries of the electric bikes. A refrigerator and a freezer are at your disposal to keep your food and ice packs cool.
THE VELODYSSE
After a few pedal strokes, you join the Vélodyssée. This cycling route runs along the Atlantic Ocean from Roscoff to Hendaye and crosses the Vendée. With 70% of lanes reserved exclusively for cyclists, the Vélodyssée allows you to contemplate the coastal landscapes in complete safety.
OUR BIKE OFFER
For our cycling friends, we offer you a special offer fromof €100. After spending a restful night in one of our rooms, you will enjoy a hearty continental breakfast to give you all the energy you need to pedal all day. Port de Saint Gilles Croix de Vie
SARDINE SPRING
Renowned for fishing blue fish, in particular sardines, Saint Gilles Croix de Vie has a heritage that tells its story related to fishing.
FISHING PORT
In the heart of the city, the fishing port of Saint Gilles Croix de Vie is the one and only French port labeled "Remarkable site of taste". With about forty ships and a hundred fishermen. This port is the first sardine port on the Atlantic coast. Indeed, about 3000 tonnes of sardines are landed per year. The sardine is not the only jewel of Saint Gilles Croix de Vie: when sardines are not being fished, from October to February, the sailors fish for the shrimp of Saint Gilles.
LITTLE ISLAND DISTRICT
Also called the Quartier du Maroc, this district shows the heritage of the "Moroccans", the Moors of Spain who fled their country in the 16th century due to religious conflicts. Arrived in Saint Gilles, they taught local sailors how to fish with a straight net.
WALK FISHING
More and more families are investing the foreshore, the coastal part where shore fishing is practiced.
At Sauzaie beach in Bretignolles sur Mer, when the tide goes out, you can fish for cockles and clams, mussels, winkles and crabs.
You have to be well equipped and remember to consult the tide times so as not to be trapped by the rising tide.
OUR ACTIONS FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
SORTING OF WASTE
We have provided specific bins for glass, packaging and paper in our common areas. In the rooms, we ask customers not to put this waste (packaging, glass, paper) in the bin, but on the desk so that we put it afterwards in the appropriate containers.
For the paper, we use it to the maximum by using the back as a draft. Thus, we reduce our waste of paper.
NAPKINS
In case of recoats, we change the sheets every 3 days and the towels if necessary to minimize machine washes and water consumption. Thus, we invite our customers to deposit the towels requiring cleaning on the floor.
HEATING & ELECTRICITY
In the small, simple gestures of everyday life, there is the use of heating and electricity.We make the most of the natural skylight in our lobby. Thus, we turn on the light only in the morning and in the evening. If we leave a room, we turn off the light.
If the room is not booked, the heating remains off. We turn it on the day of an arrival. We turn it off when airing the rooms.
MAINTENANCE PRODUCTS
For cleaning, we favor the use of eco-labeled or ecological cleaning products.
SEARCH ENGINE
We use Ecosia to do our research on the Internet. This search engine allows you to plant a tree after about 40 searches.

The hotel has put on its lights and decorated everything, ready to welcome Santa Claus.
MVR CATERING
This year, our caterer has put the small dishes in the big ones and concocted a Christmas menu rich in flavors. All portions are individual and take out.
On the menu: Amuse-bouches, Duck foie gras, Scallops and other starters will delight your taste buds; Duck leg confit, Capon supreme stuffed with chanterelles, Quail stuffed with foie gras will continue the meal to perfection; Cod fillet with champagne sauce, Roasted sea bass fillet with virgin sauce, Roasted prawns skewers with sweet spices will satisfy lovers of fish and seafood.
